At night I sit by the ocean’s edge,
Cool sand upon my feet, the
waves soothing my dreams
In ways that I cannotWords flow thru me like water.
This is where I live.Memories, like the day,
Scorch the back of my neck
and crash against the rocks
In the places I come fromAll of it spilling out,
The destruction of lightLike the moment of creation,
God’s wrath upon the earth,
giving life to bone and ash
In a forgotten churchWhere love is
Whispered by men.<3
@infamouslyroggylives said I should post 5 songs I listen to frequently…since I have my car radio tuned to the classical station while I drive, I’m gonna have to go with a top fivish songs I will listen to no matter what. Maybe I sing along, maybe they make me think of people and situations. Let’s see what I came up with.
I’m gonna forgo the obvious (anything by Journey or Chicago) and dig a little:
Sailing - Christopher Cross
*fun fact I actually listened to this while sailing once when I was in grade school and it made me very happy
Ghost - Indigo Girls
*yes I 100% sing along to this and do all the harmonies, usually makes me tear up
Gett Off - Prince
*literally everything about this UNF
Don’t Give Up - Peter Gabriel featuring Kate Bush
*everyone needs a little quiet encouragement occasionally
Fades Like A Photograph - Filter
*because I think of my friend when I hear this and that makes me very happy,
do I cry? Maybe I do…
A little peek into my brain and heart. Enjoy!
I make it a point to tell anyone who asks how I am, that I am tired because I think honestly is important. I am tired. That’s an accurate answer.
Prince Darling transformed into the monster.

I got to have breakfast with a very dear friend of several decades this morning and it was fantastic. Among the much catching up that happened on both sides, he mentioned that there was a documentary that aired recently on HBO about the cult that his mom and sister are still in, so I went home and binge-watched all the episodes. It’s heart-breaking to see how much damage can be done to each other in the name of God. I cried for sure.
